Camden Hills State Park is 2 miles north of Camden on US Route 1. Visitors may hike or drive to the summit of Mount Battie for an excellent view of Camden Harbor, Penobscot Bay and inland lakes and rivers. Mt Megunticook, highest of the Camden Hills is a moderate climb by foot trail. The park offers 30 miles of hiking trails with access from 5 major trail heads. A 107 site camping area includes flush toilets, hot showers and water and electric hookups. Salt and fresh water beaches are nearby. During the winter, a local snowmobile club maintains several trails when snow permits.

Chewonki Campground is located on 50 acres overlooking a saltwater inlet along the coast of Maine. We are noted for our peaceful, clean and expansive sites. Operated by the Brackett family since 1961, Chewonki Campground has 47 sites, many of which have a view of the Montsweag River. Amenities include a 60 X 40 filtered saltwater swimming pool, wading pool, clay tennis court, full hookups, dump station, horseshoes, volleyball, kayaks, canoes, playground, rec hall, library and small store. The river beckons canoeist and kayakers where they can explore the meandering estuaries that eventually lead directly to the ocean. Shore and field birds abound and our nature path leads campers through a dense white pine forest to a point of land that provides a different perspective of the saltwater inlet. Annual, perennial, and water gardens grow throughout the campground providing a sense of serenity and beauty.Chewonki Campground is centrally located along the mid coast of Maine and is in close proximity to a variety of attractions such as museums, country fairs, antiques, saltwater fishing, beaches, lighthouses, golf courses, flea markets, gift shops and outlet stores. Located 1 1/2 miles off of Coastal Route 1, we are easy to find. Fish or swim in the clear water of 7 mile long Pemaquid Lake or just relax in the shade of the tall pines. Coastal activities and seafood restaurants are within easy reach. Our facilities are here for you.

During the Winter months our Lakehouse with private dock is available for rent by the week. We are located only 30 minutes from Camden Snow Bowl, where you can ski and tube. You can also ice fish, snowmobile and sled right on site.

Flood’s Cove, in Friendship, has expanded its ocean front vacation offerings. It now has six housekeeping ocean front vacation homes, a single ocean front RV site and seven ocean front island wilderness camp sites.

The RV site is on a level ocean front site. It has sewer, electricity, water, a shower/bathroom building.

The seven wilderness camp sites are all directly on the ocean. Each site has a steel fire ring that has an adjustable cooking grate and a picnic table. The camp sites are on a 13 acre island known as Ames Island. It is adjacent to the shore and we provide a boat service that takes the campers to the island. The island has outhouses, a screened in gazebo, kayak launching area and wonderful views of the sun set over the ocean. We also provide fresh water.

We continue to have the six ocean front vacation homes for summer rental.
