Camping with a View Tenting sites are also available. You have access to hundreds of miles of ATV and Snowmobile trails from our back yard. The Airline Snackbar is a member of the Maine Campground Owners Association. Lakeside Family Campground. Store, laundry, free hot showers and free Wi-Fi. Take out restaurant. Relax by your campfire or explore Bar Harbor, 26 miles away. Ft. Knox and the tallest bridge observation tower in the country are only 6 miles south in Bucksport. Blue Hill Peninsula is nearby. Located on Toddy Pond, a 10 mile lake with great swimming, fishing and boating. Go fishing for pickerel, large mouth bass, trout, sun fish, salmon and more. Rent a pontoon boat, fishing boat, kayak or canoe, or bring your own. Pets are welcome at an extra cost. Pet-friendly rental RV available. Friday and Saturday night hay rides. Friday night movies in the pavilion. Saturday night bonfire at the waterfront (weather permitting). Christmas in July, the 3rd weekend of July. Halloween in August, the 3rd weekend of August. Private, secluded tent sites will make you feel like you’re in the back country while still being close to the amenities of Bar Harbor. An island shuttle service stops at the campground (mid-June through campground closing), making it easy to visit town. The campground is located at the gates of Acadia National Park with all of the hiking, kayaking, mountain biking and other pleasures the park has to offer. Open mid May to late October with 120 shaded sites, a fire pit and a picnic table on each site. Located on the quietside of Mount Desert Island, we are family owned and operated with friendly staff to assist in all your needs. We are within walking distance of the Bass Harbor Lighthouse and Acadia National Park. The Island Explorer free shuttle bus service is available at the campground and will travel to Bar Harbor. Other buses are available to travel throughout Acadia and the island including to the Carriage Roads for good biking and hiking. Pets are welcome, our pool is heated and fresh lobsters are available. We also have a playground for the youngsters. Accommodations include cabins tucked into the trees, tent sites and full hook up (30/50amp,cable,sewer) RV sites.
